Emboss Resist Technique

This is a cool technique when the stamped image ends up "resisting" the color added.

1. Take a piece of UltraSmooth White card stock. Using a VersaMark® pad or white craft pad, stamp image(s).  While the ink is still wet, pour on Crystal Clear embossing powder, shake off excess.  Heat with Heat tool to emboss.

Tips on using Heat Tool:

What not to do: Do not leave plugged in, it is very hot and only adults should use it.  Do not shake the heat tool (like you would a blow dryer) while heating embossing powder.

What to do:  Turn on heat tool, hold it above or below paper and hold it in one place until powder starts to melt. Then slowing move the heat tool to next area, making sure all powder melts. If you leave it too long in one area it can cause the paper to burn. The heat tool continues to heat up as it you use it (the first time it will take a little longer to melt the powder then after you have been using it on several cards).

2. Let cardstock cool a little.  Then use a sponge or sponge dauber to ink the card stock.  You can tap the sponge lightly or burnish it in to the card stock (rub vigorously) until you get the desired richness of color. Then take a tissue and light rub the areas that were embossed; this will remove any ink from the embossed area.

Note:  If you want to start out with a different colored cardstock, you can still use a VersaMark® pad and Crystal Clear embossing powder.  If you want to use a Craft pad it will have to be the same color as the card stock.
